volant air intakes
I'm about to order a slp H.O. hood I was wondering if a volant air intake
would work with the new hood? does anybody have this combo or the
ws6 hood with the volant intake? I called up volant and they dident know
if it would work because they only test fitted their intake with the stock
hood. any ideas!!

so it will work on a slp H.O. hood I just need some weather striping?
see im a little confused the slp H.O. hood does not come with a new
air box it uses the little half inch slot on the stock air box. so how
is the volant air box going to work? the hole top of the volant air box
is open right? sory if that doesent make sense im confused my self.

Red- 2000 WS6
I have a WS6 with a Volant CAI. The Volant will not seal to the hood with the weather stripping that comes with the kit. What you need to do is put the provided weather strip on and then pick up a tube of copper pipe foam insulation from Home Depot or Lowe's. The one I have is a very dark gray color and almost looks like it came with the kit. A 6' or so length costs about $3. The foam strip will be split down the middle and have adhesive tape strips down the length of the split. Simply cut one solid length to fit completely around the box (except for the front) and pull away the adhesive tape and press it over the provided weather strip.
Good luck...
