    Vibration in 6th Gear

I have a question for the group. It is in regards to my 2002 WS6 Trans Am 6 speed. Pretty much unmolested at 106K miles besides a tune. The question is about a vibration that can be felt in the steering wheel and in the gear shift when running 60 - 65 mph in 6th gear. Similar to a tire a bit out of balance. If I down shift to 5th, the vibration isn't noticeable any longer. Not much of a vibration but is noticeable. Have any of you run into this? I was going to get the tires balanced and noticed tonight that I don't feel it in 5th. Figured that I would ask the experts in the group. Thanks

    Vibration in 6th Gear

Could be several things: tires out of balance, u joint even possible pinon bearing starting to wear out.

I'd check the u joints 1st, (free to look), then next the pinon, you just need to remove drive shaft and check for play on the pinon. Again free to do it yourself. If those are good then pay to have tires rebalance.

Could possibly be the tail shaft bushing. Mine vibrates in 6th as well with 150k. if your tail shaft seal is leaking, then your bushing is probably bad.
