Turn Signal
Would anyone know where i would purchase the wire harness for my front passenger side blinker. I see mine was already replaced before by the previous owner and now its rusted out and before i had to replace the bulbs every couple of months. Now it doesnt seem to work even though i replaced the bulb and i also checked the back bulb. Also what would be the right name for it, i hope someone knows what im talking aboul.

u can get them at any auto parts store, their about 8 bucks. . . if your housings/lenses are cracked, this could be allowing moisture in and creating corrosion. they are about $26 a piece, and u usually need to change both so they match.

/\ yeap . . . . i do know ive asked the guys at the parts store to look it up on the computer and they'll bring up a harness they have to order for like $40 for some reason. Go down the electrical aisle and find it yourself. Its pretty easy to match, as seen in cutlass's post.

You want dorman p/n 85881.
It should be about 7-8 bucks. And no need to splice wires, just replace the sockets (scrub the wires when you get the old socket off).
The inner part of the socket pops out of the outer part and just pull the pins out. The wires will then slide out, just make sure to remember which order they were in when you slide them into the new socket.
As far as the housings, even if you buy new ones, they will eventually get water in them. I drilled a 1/4" hole in the bottom to allow water to drain and haven't had an issue with them in over 7 yrs (after I went thru replacing the housings a few times).Last edited by peterlawl84; 05-27-2010 at 07:01 PM.

I got mine from Advancedauto for like 6 ot 7 bucks. Getting new aftermarket lenses next when I take the bumper off to repaint it. I already installed all HID's and LED's and a electric flashes and new sockets so may as well change the lenses their cheap enough.

it should fit . . . lube it up with the dielectric grease. . . i'm sure its just tight because its an aftermarket part. id put on gloves just in case the bulb breaks.

Ok i got it to fit light turned on seemed like it was fine but the blinker doesnt work. I tried swithing the Left and right blinking bulbs with no luck the Left still bleeks, but not the right. I also switched the bulbs from the back and still the left side bleeks but not the right. The light turns on, but doesnt blink and i dont know what else to do. I also tried messing with the bulb with no luck. what could it be. To begin with the blinker wasnt working just the light so i figured since it was corroded that it was no good, so thats why i changed out the whole turn signal socket.
