is it true?
is it true that a car losses performance when you put the ac on and that you should not put the ac if you are going faster than 80 miles per hour . Thank you.

I know Myth busters did a thing, that proved it Does NOT effect gas milelage, as far as performance, I dont know.
It is actually worse to drive with the windows down, for gas mileage due to air resistance, I would assume same would ring true for performance,
But with windows up and AC off, / Vs. windows up ac ON. I DON'T KNOW, but I too would like to know, and like to see proof.

Pretty sure the PCM turns off the AC clutch at WOT. If you're just talking about cruising at 80 yeah, it takes away some HP.

Would have to agree, PCM turns off A/C at WOT. took me a few times to realize this as I occassionally forgot to turn off A/C while running and it got a little warm in my car while running then when I got off of it the A/C kicked back on...

mythbusters revisted the ac thing and it turns out that driving with the Ac doesnt hurt ur gas mileage at about 15%
