    Trans Am > Formula ?

    Hey guys,

Just found out these numbers on the net and I was wondering if they were right, and if so, why?

    1998 Pontiac Firebird Formula 5.3 13.9 (C&D Jun '98)
    1998 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 5.1 13.4

According that they would've been done with a non ram-air Formula and a ram-air T/A, maybe, but still, theres a big difference in the numbers.

These numbers are out from this site:

    http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html

I do beleive that the 98 Formula and 98 T/A Share the exact same engine setup, do they?

Probably different people testing them... the Formula might even be faster as it would be lighter than the Trans Am... but I'll keep my T/A over any Formula.

every car is a little different and every driver is a little different. But performance wise they are identical. Just body part differences.

    That's what I thought so,

Well then i'm glad to own the cheaper of the fastests and the biggest Since the car has no T-tops and now have a Superhawk hood which is made of fiberglass instead of the factory metal chucky one, it's prolly the lightest version of the F-bodies LS1 we could own. No T-Tops rocks! Gives an awesome and different look, especially on my car since it's silver on black tinted windows and accessories.

I'll try to have pics soon, when the snows melts all if it ever will . . .

Anyone that runs only 13.9 in an LS1 needs to go back to driving school

very true. But it could've been one of the slower ones made - '98 auto with 2.73 gears.

I kinda feel sorry for the a4 buyers who didnt know to look at the door panel for gear size when they bought there cars.

    Stock LS1 F-Body's are roughly 14.5's here.

Poor you man, this means you have to watch during 20 secs a guy who puts his stock civic on the 1/4 track . . . poor show for the eyes'n ears indeed.
