Hooker---Under $400. Good rumble at idle, nice at WOT. Not obnoxiously loud, sounds great with headers. Not stainless though, costs under $400

Magnaflow---Betwen $400 & $500, stainless exhaust, similar to Hooker, prol a tad bit louder. Some members have complained that with headers and ORY it becomes a bit raspy.

SLP Loudmouth--As stated, pretty loud and gets VERY loud with headers. Flows well and should still be under $400.

SLP LM 2--A little more tame than LM1, still has a nice rumble, and good cost.

Stear clear of Flowmaster, doesn't flow well but sounds pretty mean.
All of the above should be under $500, most of the other systems like GMMG, Corsa and Borla will run you more than that.

I had a Borla, and a Bolra ORY to raspy and a little louder then stock, Then I had a LM and it was just right, then I added a cam, and headers and it was WAY TO LOUD.I now have a 4" Mufflex with a Spin Tech and it's awesomestill a little loud but it just sounds mean.I may sale my Mufflex and down size to a 3" just to get rid of the extra weight from being 4", but www.LS1sounds.com is a good place to start.Oh the Mufflex will run you about 650.00 for the catback.Or you could just keep you stock set up and get you a ORY, and headers and then add a cut out, that sounds good too.....

I just looked on summitracing.com and an edelbrock cat-back is $289.88, before being shipped. Part number is EDL-5772. It's aluminized instead of stainless. But for me living in colorado, its not much of a concern. Not much need to be concerned about rust out here, just freezing to death.

What part of Florida do you live in? I lived in Key West for 4 yrs, there is one place in Marathon that does pretty good work. IIRC the name of the place was Muffler Man, ask for Rob.
They do sell Flowmaster but I really wouldn't put that on a 4th gen, just my opinion. Howevere I had them on 3rd gens. I also like the way Borla sounds. Matter of fact thats probably all I'm ever gonna go with.
Well my brother has a Gibson on his Dodge but thats a different story.

If you get loudmouth, and don't have any major mods, retain your stock headers to keep it mild, but when you start getting into heads, cam, and other motor work, opt for the long tube headers, but you might then want to swap out the SLP resonator, with a borla or dynomax bullet to tone it down a bit. Depends on how loud you want to be without it sounding obnoxious. A buddy of mine has Pacesetter LTs, no cats, ORY, and Loudmouth, and loudest, highest volume, and raspy exhaust i've ever heard on an LS1.

I went with the SLP loudmouth 2 ... the nice thing is that if the bullet muffler isn't ballsy and loud enough for you, you can just swap it out with the resonator ($80 separate purchase) for the LM I sound... After I slapped the LM 2 on, she sounded nice, deep, loud, and definately turns heads... I found no need to buy the resonator and fell in love with the LM 2 outta the box. Just my opinion...

I vote Corsa. It's pricy but sounds mild till u put ur foot in it . Then ur calling out everyone and there brother. If ur stuck on the 400 or lower go loudmouth , i have a friend with twins and about 20,000 in his motor and it still sounds great.
