Trans am emblem overlays

for you who have black or any other color t/a emblems and badges, what would you think is the best way to PAINT, or the STICKER KIT OFF OF EBAY

If you want to paint, buy a sticker kit from 3rd Shift or ebay. Before you set the sticker, sand the entire plate well....spray the base color that you want the bird to be. Let dry and the lay the bird. Spray the license plate the body color. Let dry, remove the bird and then clear coat....dry and feel the pretty bird with no paint lines.

That makes the most sense and is the easiest way if you're looking to do the overlays by paint.

i bought my vinyl overlays from afterthoughtsauto.com for a decent price. They are just peel & stick, doesn't take long to do.

Hello and welcome to the board. Depends on the "effect" you want to acheive. If you want the whole bird/beveled edges to be one color and the rest of the plate another color-you'll have a lot of tricky masking work to do. No vinyl will cover the bird and the beveled edges properly.

the other version is to buy a bird overlay vinyl kit from afterthoughts or if you want something unique, we sell some really cool printed ones with red flames, blue flames and the US flag, check out our thread:

if you know how to paint you can sand the area to rough lay the decals than clear over it a few times ive done that for decals on my ninja panles and tank and it comes out so smooth and most people think its painted on and with the clear it will last and be protected from the elements far as long as your paint lasts
