trading a stock A4 formula for a custom 454 truck?

So Ive got a all stock 1993 formula firebird with a 113,000 miles, its in alright shape but it need a nose cone and a good paint job(20footer). My buddies has a 1990 1/2 ton regular cab shortbed chevy truck with a recently rebuilt carbureted 454 motor bored .40 over w/ a mild cam and roller rockers, edlebrock intake manifold w/ an edlebrock 650 carb, edlebrock headers, a built turbo 400 tranny, new 3.73 gears w/ a locker. It has basically been a completely restored. The guy works at a local body shop. The body is all done right. No quick fixes. It has a 1994 front end and a two tone black and gray paint job and 17in torq thrust II's. The truck runs great it pulls harder than the LT1 from a dig. The truck used to be a v6. Do you guy think im stupid for wanting to trade because my buddies think I am but Im needing a truck for this summer to haul my dirt bikes to the race around here.

I guess that depends on your own preferences... Myself, I wouldn't do it. They may perform similar straight line but there's no comparison on ride and handling. If you NEED the truck for hauling then I guess it's neccesary but I would say try to save up for a beater truck and keep the car. I tried to sell mine and couldn't do it. Besides, your can easily mod you car to be MUCH faster further down the road. Good luck.

To tell you the truth the truck is a LOT faster than my bird for the little distance i drove it. It flat moves on.

If you need to haul stuff you won't find a better way to haul anything. I'd do it if I needed a truck.

I think that it would be a badass truck to roll up to the different motorcross races this summer.
