Traction Control (Thumbs Up)
Of course there's a bunch of Traction Control threads already, just read a bunch of them to see what the general feel is out there. I've been driving my 02 CETA for about 8 months now, pulling out hard into traffic is where I really notice it. Not sure exactly what it does but it keeps the car straight, slows me down a bit - (this is what makes me want to turn it off). So yes I have turned it off, bang it hard into traffic and of course she wants to get sideways very quickly.
Anyway, my overall point here is, I really do like the TC in my car, it does what it is supposed to do.

Suggestion: If you are particularly irritated by another member's posting habits and are constantly fighting the urge to flame them, you can click on that person's profile, and select "Add to ignore list." This will make that person's posts invisible to you.

^ T/C compensates for poor driving ability
no T/C for me and i drive in winter..and also have shit tires on right now..so i break loose on 2nd shift..or burn through 2nd..if you pedel right and control your vehicle you shouldn't need it but you will realize this as you have your car longer.

TCS is an almost useless system. The only time it is helpful is when you are already moving foward. In the rain/snow off the line it sucks because it works against you. It applys the rear brakes and restricts the air flow into the intake which is really annoying off the line even more so in stick cars. VDC however works great in all weather and does a much better job. But whether its VDC or TCS both should be turned off when racing.

The TCS is crap.
I'm really glad my car didnt come with it. The only TC you need is your right foot.
I would recommend not stomping on it everywhere and kicking the rear out or getting softer tires.

I turn mine off sometimes. I usually leave it on though. I hate having a warning light on in my cluster.

This is why I started the thread. I love opinions
I work in an Industrial Park - Long straight road with about 100 buildings on it. Picture the endless line of cars at 5:00pm, and guess what, they are all going about 70 MPH on a 40 mph road. So I get to the end of my work driveway trying to get out. No, I'm not making a right, so it takes forever. I'm usually pulling out in front of a car from the left and a huge truck on the right.
I really do Hate the feeling of the TCS, it pushes back on the gas, does all kinds of braking, but my car stays in the lane pointing in the right direction
Trust me when I say I really do know how to drive, been driving my '67 400 for 22 years, (now theres a loose car!) but the scenario I just laid out, pulling into that traffic, my car can get sideways in a hurry.
I Hate it, but it works well.

TC was never in my car though I did drive an AT with TCS. I hated every minute of it. Especially when trying to rip it down a street and the pedal kicks your foot back up

I always turn mine off as soon as i get in the car. I just hate it when it does its normal tcs thing and i bet other drivers are thinking "ha! that kid cant drive stick"

My other cars have TC and I'm delighted that this one doesn't.

The one thing my car has done right to me is, not having TCS.
