Tick master cylinder
For those running the tick master cylinder, did you use longer bolts then supplied, they look short and made out of regular steel which could be a problem down the road since its into aluminum threads.
Also does anyone have pic of the clutch hose routings under the heat sheilds. Iam not sure if the hose should go under the shield which is attached to the frame (verticle).

The bolts supplied are fine, apply some antiseize if you want. And the line goes behind the heat shield

install
It took about an hour to install. If it goes under the long cover on the side of the frame its going to take a couple of hard bends, remember the tick hose is larger because of the covering. I know it goes under the cover on the floor pan, just not sure about the frame. anyone have pics?

anyone have problems with the tick boot rubbing against the firewall hole. The bolt holes are tights and there is no play, continuous rubbing will destroy the boot.

You can get a drill bit one size larger then the holes on the fire wall and open them up a little. I did this and it makes sliding in the bolt much easier. Will not hurt anything. As backup I placed some masking tape 1/8" thick around the bit in order to prevent it pushing to far past the fire wall. I also drilled inside out.

Whats the best way to adjust the tick master cylinder? Do I need to leave the clip off the end of the pedal or can it be adjusted with it attached?

I don't have a Tick yet so I have to defer to others that do.

tick
Installed and running. I adjusted it so it connects about half way up. I first had it connect just a little off the floor like a dragster but I cant drive it that way every day. It shuttlers a little in reverse or slow 1st, typical for a stick I guess. Now has far as the hard shifting still wont go into 3rd on occasion. No ship shift connected. I think I read somewhere the t-56 has this problem when racing it.

If you got a Tick it should almost eliminate that problem.
Only other thing I know that that causes that issue is syncros are starting to go. How many miles on the transmission itself? Mine has about 160k miles and I need to get one done very soon.

syncros
I have 114K on it. Transmission shop told me a sign of bad syncros was the car popping out of gear. I am not sure I believe that though.

Yes it is. Also another sign is while shifting it feels like you're locked out of the gear. <<syncros are very bad then.
Mine is at that stage. I have to baby it while shifting. No racing/high rpm shifting till I can get it rebuilt. That may be around Christmas time for me.
My higher priority is getting my wife's Jeep motor rebuilt.

A bad synchro will not cause you to pop out of a gear. Once the gear is engaged the synchro does nothing so it wont pop out. A synchro going bad will cause grinding on upshifting eventually but is usually noticeable on the downshift first because thats when the synchro works the hardest. If you're popping out of gear it could be a couple things, one is that your shift fork is bent and doesnt allow the gear to engage fully thus popping out or your synchro hub keys are bent or broken which doesnt let the slider "lock" into the gear.

When mine did it the dealership repalced it under extended warranty (thank god!)..they said it was a bad ''stop'' same thing your saying different terminology i guess... I have 67,000 mi on my SS and it went out years/miles ago...so its not always a mileage issue? Bad QC.
