Tail lights
I dont have any problems, or plans for my tail lights, but I just wanted to point out how beautiful our taillights are. Has anyone looked around at other taillights? They're all just plain red...I mean I know setups and shapes are nice...corvette, ferrari, ect. But I think we have one of the most beautiful tail lights in the world...just thought i'd put it out there

+2. Although I really like my 96 gp lights also. They kind of mimicked the T/A and had the 3d look.
random internet pic. not the best, but you get the idea.

yeah people pay money to modify other cars tail lights with aftermarket lenses and still don't end up looking as good.
I also like how they project the pontiac arrowhead onto the ground behind the car at night, whether or not it was intended by designers or accidental it's still a nice bonus.

I agree. In this day and age of "cookie cutter" cars, the fact that ours stand out in a crowd is part of the allure. The tail lights really add to the whole look. Especially when this is the view most people get to see:

Makes me wonder why some people cover them up....
I went for a darker look with my car, but could not bring myself to cover the tails.

I personally like the honeycomb decals they have for the reverse lights. I think it's a good touch.

I agree totally. Our cars are something special.
One thing you might want to consider, which has drawn some attention to my car (in good ways) is a sequencing setup. There was a company, "Thundercat Electronixx" (google it) that had a sequencing kit. They just announced that they're out of business, but I'm sure there are others. I put it on mine pretty flawlessly. I cut out the socket on the 3rd light (the far outside one) to put a full size bulb in. There's no noticeable change from the outside, other than my tail lights are brighter.
When I hit the brakes, my 3rd brake light blinks (cheap kit from eBay), and the tail lights sequence out. I had quite a few close calls, where people didn't notice me stopping. Now, people really notice when I'm slowing down. It's pretty much taken brake checks out of the equation to get a tailgater to slow down. I just tap the brakes so the lights light up, and they back off.

^^ A friend recently installed a sequencing tail lights module on his '07 Mustang GT. I followed him down to the track back in November and thought it looked pretty cool. Have never seen it on a F-body before.

I have a video up on YouTube showing the before and after. It's not the best video, since I didn't start doing it until afternoon, and finished after dark. It's also a bit slow, since I cycled through all the light combinations, so I could compare them.
Here's the video

I guess it's been 6 years now (more or less) since I put 'em on, and haven't even managed to burn out a set of bulbs yet.
If you're really interest to see how it looks during the daytime, I could shoot it again this weekend.

Nice! Was it a kit made for our cars or did you adapt one to work?

It was their generic 3 light kit (3 lights per side). I just followed the instructions. It was pretty easy. I'd suspect any kit would do it. The only parts that weren't covered in the instructions were where to run the wires and where to mount it.
Changing the socket on the outside tail lights is optional, but I recommend it so you'll have brighter lights back there. That 3rd bulb is just a little marker light bulb, not a full size bulb. I've done a lot of night driving, and there's no distortion in the taillights. I was a little worried when I first did it, that it would heat the plastic too much, but it's been fine.
They had my picture tutorial up on their site, but since it's going away, I've copied it back to my server.

You can see in the pictures that it gets dark in the background. I had to run to the store for something in the middle of the install. Fun, fun. At least I had my spare T/A to drive (you can see the nose of it in one of the shots).
