My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
send a letter to GM explaining your disgust...they should reply back. Not.
It's just a shame-it's happened to all of us. Too much torque? Faulty manufacturing? hot/cold weather changes?

Did a preventive strike on my panels, also. I did not see anything unless I looked really close, but after taking them off it was worse on the backside. I recommend everybody do this to their door panel when they can find the time. Not too hard, either.

Can someone explain what to do or what to look for in regards to the door crack. What can I do to prevent it from happening?

I just completed doing both doors on my 2000 WS6. Ended up totally replacing the skin on the driver side since I could not fix it cosmetically. I was able to fix the passenger side. Removed about 6 of those industerial staples and used wire instead.

Bright Silver Metallic- 2002 Trans Am WS6
I heard the trick was not to put the windows all the way down. This keeps the panel from flexing

This is a great link to read how to fix the problem, and where to look for it on your car. I fixed my car after reading about it. I subscribe to HP Pontiac.
Yeah, just wait, it will happen to you then you won't be so happy. Unless somebody has already fixed yours....
