T/A Antenna stops half way

My antenna is not coming up all the way. It will come up the first about half way then the top part of it gets stuck and wont budge. Any suggestions. A new antenna only costs like $50 but, I'd first like to see if I can fix it.

I was thinking about disconectiong mine so it wouldn't raise any more.

try some grease or something like that

Mine doesn't go up anymore unless I turn on the radio

You might not be able to pickup any stations. Mine doesn't go up because I unplugged it (damaged) and I only get one clear station. Good thing it is the one I like to listen to all the time so I haven't bothered fixing mine yet.
