Sure Ways to tell its a ws6?

What are the sure ways that I can make sure that a trans am is a true ws6 and not just had a hood and emblems added onto it?

Look on the door sticker , a real WS6 will say WS6 on there. You ll see WS6 and WS9

thats what i thought but on the 98 i was looking at i only saw the ws9 not a ws6 thing. the other thing about it is it was missing the ws6 emblem on the back and had the wrong rims on it and i didnt see the traction control button on it. Can anyone tell me where to locate that on a 98 ws6 if it has one? It has the leather seats, monsoon stereo, and the hood so im not positive if it is or isn't a ws6.

Id say that its not the real thing then, they all had the ws6 on the door sticker. The traction control was a feature on the ws6 so there is some cars without it (like mine) , but id say you got yourself a fully loaded trans am with a ws6 hood

    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

go to any GM dealer-give them your VIN, find out what's up with a GM history report-it's free. I think you got a faker....or a make over, but surely if there's no emblem, that's a tell sign.

It's simple...the option code "WS6" will be on the door sticker if its real.

if it does not have the code then it is not a REAL WS6 car. it could have WS9 for the Formula but i doubt that it is a WS6 formula.

We should start a betting pool. I think I'd have to put my money on fake.

Traction Control was an option. So a real WS6 may not have TCS.

    I e-mailed you back.

**EDIT** I'll let the pool go on for a while before I tell if the car is real or not.

If you guys ever need a VIN run, feel free to e-mail me the VIN & I will run it for you. I had a sticky thread in a few forums on the board before. I'll see if I can get a mod to sticky a thread letting everyone know I can do this for ya again.

I have a WS6 and WS9 on the door sticker. When I bought it the dealer told me that a real WS6 will have a lot of 2's in the VIN. Anybody know if that's true. Mine does have several 2's in the VIN.

I've never heard that before. But I also have never compared a bunch of WS6 VINs. Maybe someone else can confirm if there are a lot of 2's in a legit WS6 VIN.
