I own a 2000 trans am with ws6 hood and air box, k&n filter......slp lid......slp smooth bellows........rebuilt 9 clutch transmission with shift kit.....and slp loudmouth cat back exhaust........some idiot is driving around my town in an srt4........could i take him......i heard they are pretty quick but how quick are they and how much would i get him by?

there isn't an extra loud turb blow out valve......that i can hear of........other then that not sure..........

Since you dont know, it could be pretty close. Those engines already come turbo charged and are pretty quick. And usually someone that has one of those tunes it out. But, i have a feeling that you can take him. What kind of mods do you have in your car? If both of the cars are stock, then you will take him.

i had 2 friends 1 with a srt4 and the other with a 96 z28. and stock for stock the z28 pulled him 4 cars.

ha. you will call it a neon now. every time someone gets beat by one they say, "oh, its a srt4. i didn't know" ha. seriously be carful. it is too easy to make better than stock power with a turbo charged car.

My old work Auto Fx had a car in joint with Revitup motorsports based out of philadelphia, pa... stock bottom end with 400+HP... It was sick. Just be careful

ha. I have heard alot from a buddy at work. I am currently stationed in Korea so its kinda hard to go try for myself. If you don't believe me then go to Streetfire.net and look it up. there are some pretty kick ass "neons" on there

My friend just bought a SRT-4 and they are sick. All he has is a downpipe, turbo timer, boost gage, and full exhaust and that thing is quick. We beat a 2000 SS Camaro that had headers and exhaust and 3.73 gears so just watch out

WE? hmmm.... a boost gauge comes stock in an srt 4. that doesnt make it go faster.

and everytime an srt 4 gets beat by an f body they say "oh well this is just a 4 cylinder..." they dont run THAT fast, and i cant understand why there are so many threads that ask what will happen. the only answer can be...ANYTHING. and you have a torque laden v8. what are you so worried about? dont get me wrong, i dont mind the srt 4 and its quick for what it is....but it is not, i repeat, it is not, that fast. the OP should be running low low 13s or better. a stock srt 4 isnt going to run that. just line em up and test the theory. torque vs. turbo.

Just run him. I've ran a few and not lost to one. Just hit all your shifts perfectly, dont ever let off the loud pedal, and stomp his ass. Try it from like a 30mph roll in 2nd, dump the clutch at about 4500rpm.
