    Stupid question of the day

Few weeks ago we bought a 99 T/A WS-6. It has been lowered 1",1.5". My stupid question is whats the best way to get under it to change the oil. I can barely fit my arm under the car. Can anyone recommend a a good jack or ramps that will do the job ? My current jack is too big and wont fit under the car. Besides, I have read that it is best to add SFC's before jacking. So are there ramps out that can be used ? (I never worked on a car that was this low.) Any tricks you guys use ?

NO, I dont want to take it to Jiffy Lube. Dont trust them.

I made ramps. $8 worth of supplies from Home Depot.
I have some Rhino Ramps as well...but I can't get the car on those. Tires are too wide...they just push the ramps.

Mines lowered too. I just bought a hidrolic floor jack from the auto store. I jack the car up at the sub frame on the sides. It's alot easier to reach and a jack with a minimum height of 5.25 inches should do the trick. I also put the stands there, It's high enough that I can get completely under the car.

If I use a jack I drive up on some 2" thick pieces of wood first. I made some home made ramps and put the 2" pieces of wood in front of them to get up higher for the ramps. The wood is about 2 feet long.

hahaha, when I was in japan, we had to drive a 80's chevy van (or bus more like it) and a car like that had parked right in the parking lot exit. Me and another guy got out, PICKED IT UP, and moved it out of the way. bet that dude had a deja vu moment when he came back.

If you make ramps out of wood, attach an old rubber floor mat to the bottom. This will help keep them from sliding across the floor as you drive up on them.

The ones I posted have never moved on me. Nothing on the back.

But I must have cut them at the right angle. I could see that helping out if you had problems pushing the ramps.
