I would have to say since you are in NY and if you have driven it a lot it could.also be an exhaust leak. I know my car was with me in MA and has been driven year round back then and when I turned it into a weekend toy here I had a lot of rust no underneath to the point where the rear sway bar axle mounts were almost rusted off. Could also be the cats but I have none now and the only time I have a problem with exhaust odor OS when the ypipe was leaking where it met the cat back or headers from banging it around on driveways and speed bumps or when I had my old headers and we tried to reuse the factory gasket and leaked from there.

Could be the cats. Is it a rotten egg smell, or raw gas?

I'm thinking your cats are going out. What octane gas are you using?

OK. No codes either, eh? Well, you could check to see if you have a cat warranty, check out the sponsors and price some high-flow replacements, or hit up eBay for replacements and have them installed at a local exhaust shop.

If the dealer won't replace it I would go by a exhaust shop just to make sure something didn't come loose. I mean these are GM cars fit and finish was never the 1st though. Also why do the cats go bad so fast in these cars. I got a 93 5.0 with original cats ans 125k and a 02 Trailblazer with 153k and still factory cats. The 5.0 smells a little but even with the top down barely noticable and the TA has no cats and I barely notice the smell unless I have the tops off and windows down sitting in bumper to bumper.
