steering wheel pop
I've got a 98 Convertible and on occasion the steering wheel kinda pops. Seems like it isn't tight where it connects to the shaft or something like that. Just thought I'd see if anyone else has had this before and how to fix it...
Thanks,

i think i know what you are talking about, i know this is a very common issue with gm trucks. I havent personally experienced it in my f body though.
the fix for the gm trucks is to remove the intermediate steering shaft and there is a lube kit you can buy from the dealer (like 5 bucks or something) and it is a big seringe with lube that you inject into the shaft and it stops the popping, clunking noise.
Might be the same fix for an f body, might not... but it might be worth checking into some more.

Kyle,
I saw that when I did a search on this site. I'm not sure it's the same issue tho since like you said it just seems to be applicable to the trucks. Also I think I can actually feel this in the wheel right where it attaches to the column.
Does anyone have directions to take the cover off the wheel and check to see if my wheel is somehow loose where it connects to the column?
Thanks.
