    Sound like a good buy?

2000 PONTIAC FIREBIRD, HATCHBACK 2 DR. TRANS AM, 8 cylinder, 4 Speed Auto, 62,256 miles. $15,998.

Does this sound like a good deal? Its not a ws6 or have the slp package so would it be better to wait for one or would it cost much to add what those packages do?

IDK dude I picked my T/A up for 14K and it had 36K miles on it. Mint condition. He may have stumbled onto a diamond in the rough like me.

I kinda agree with fletch and vertibird on this one. I agree with fletch due to the fact that its a 2000 not 2002(most recent year made), its got 62K on it and the seller wants 16,000$-(about 3.5 thousand or more- TOO high), but on the other hand I know that "some" F-body owners really keep their rides in near "perfect" condition inside and out, so it just depends I guess. I would have to actually see the car , drive it and hear how it sounds at 62K to make a decision of course.

    What about this:

2002 Trans Am, 75,*** Miles, $14,000. Now this is completely stock. No ws6, slp, anything. Is that worth it? Or? Thanks.

I think the prices all depend on the car. You really have to look at the car and how it's been taking care of.

I bought my 2001 TA WS.6 with 24k for $16,500. It was in mint condition. The seller was an elderly gentleman who meticulously cared for the car. Garaged and covered. I say buying the right Trans Am is looking at it and getting it mechanically check, especially with high miles. You can’t go wrong with comparing prices on KBB and Edmunds.

IMO- collector car or not, I think the people are jacking up the prices on these cars because they don’t make them anymore. BS – that’s no reason. I ran into a lot of these sellers who jack up the prices and said “it’s a collector, they don’t make them anymore."

I do not disagree that some of these prices you are mentioning are too high, but that was the problem I had in finding my car. I finally had to raise my willing to pay price a little as I figured out from over a month of looking if every car seems high, maybe that is for what they are going. Now I did not get unreasonable, just spent more than I originally intended.

downsouth: you should really REALLY consider looking at the vehicles for sale section on here. a car sold on here is more likely to be priced appropriately and you can bet that board members treat their cars much better than dealership cars were treated.

Honestly, if i didn't find what i found locally-i would have bought 2 off of here
