Side door panel defect

I have a 2002 TA and my car is in almost perfect condition. This past 4 months I've notice a slice developing in the side panels(same place on each side). Has this happen to anyone. I called the dealership and they said its a defect on all TA.

Anyone know where I could get some side panels? This sucks because I think each cost about over 400.

GM quality. we are all having the same "effect"

if people ask, jsut tell them "the car has so much torque, that it broke the door panels."

A lot of people believe the issue comes from the way the window will actually PUSH on the door panel when it's all the way down.

I have about a half inch tear on my drivers side door. Does anyone know how to stop it from getting any larger?

your fluxing temperatures are gonna wreak havoc on it. it will tear for another inch and stop where the plastic meets the leather

I've got the same problem with my '02 also....both sides. I've been wanting to replace them for some time now, but I'm afraid it will just happen again. Anyone familiar with anything to strenghten them if replaced, and where can we get replacements?

I've read on some forums that the problem can be solved by removing a certain clip on the inside of the panel, not sure where it is...I'll try to find the post
