    Selling TA for G8 GT

I have a 98 Trans Am WS6 with 130k on it and I am looking at selling it and buy a 2009 G8 GT. The G8 only has 17k miles on it. I need something that is a little easier to get my kid in and out of but I still don't lose my manhood with So my question is do you guys think I should do this or just keep my TA?

It would depend on how much the dealer is giving you for the T/A or are you selling it yourself. Also, if you don't need the money from your T/A for a down payment, I would keep it.

What do they want for the G8? 23-25k?

tough call man.. if i were you i would do my best to hang on to the TA (and keep your manhood) just to drive for fun and get something cheaper for a DD. i sold my fbody off 7 years ago and that was a big mistake. i found one again and i'm happy again. just not the same with out one.

They want $24998 for the g8 and I am pretty sure I am going to need the money from my TA. Not to mention I don't have any space for another car. So it's going to have to be either I don't sell my TA or I do and get the G8. Not to mention I don't think I could comfortable pay for the insurance on both cars. I really like the G8 because it is a family car but it's also a performance one too but I really like my TA too. It will be a bitter sweet moment if I decide to sell the TA.

yea I don't really like the charger plus the one's by me are the same price as the 2009 g8 but they are 06-07s with like 50k+ miles. The g8 is a better deal in my opinion. Anyone know if that color on the g8 is rare? I have never seen one like that before. Not that I really care about mpgs but doesn't the srt8 get like horrible mpgs? Isn't it like 13/21 or something. If i did get a charger the only one I would get is the srt8. To me unless it is a daytona rt the others look boring.

Yea I really like that color. That's part of the reason I want that one versus some other ones that are cheaper.

I would really like to keep both but I don't think it's going to be possible, maybe once I get the money together I will be able to. Hoping to have a g8 by april or may. I would prefer the g8 gtp but in my area they are impossible to find. Now just to find how much I can get for my car.

Yea I am not going to go with dodge. I was reading about the engine in the g8 gt and it said it's a L76 and that is supposedly a detuned ls2 so you can use octane 87. Apparently you can have it tuned for 93 octane it that get's the hp back up to around 400hp. Is that right? That just sounds odd to me.

I was looking at G8 GT's also and I would not have a problem trading my Formula in for one. I've driven a friends GXP auto and it's wicked fast for a 4dr sedan. The GT is about 80% of what the GXP is. The GT's L76 is basically an LS2 (6.0) with the LS3's top end (Heads & Intake) with a milder cam for use with the active fuel management. You can run 12's with a few bolt-ons and a tune and still use 87 octane fuel.
That color is Stryker Blue and it is somewhat rare.
F-bodies will remain plentifull for a while but they only made the G8 for 2 yrs.
Get one while you can, I know I will.

I prefer the TA being single but if I needed a family car the G8 makes more sense. Hey you can always do.some bolt ons and a tune and make it into.a fun car. I have seen some fast ones cammed with bolt ons. I like that color allot to. I wouldn't get a Charger SRT8 there ok but usually way overpriced and bad gas mileage where the G8 is much easier if wanna mod it since they have plenty of bolt ons and almost any shop can tune one.

Depends heavily on what the trade in value they offer for the ws6 would be,as a former car salesman I can tell you they will try to give as little as possible for a trade.I would keep the t/a (assuming it's paid for) and negotiate a good price for the g8,if their advertised price is $24,999 they probably have $21,000 in it,I would offer them $22,500 for it and would be satisfied with paying $23,500 maximum.
