PEWTER- 2001 TRANS AM WS6
SAVE IT or KEEP LOOKING
I found an 88 formula 350 with a built (20 years ago) 383 sound good one owner car, black, 95,xxx miles. guy wants 4k or best offer. he hit a curb at some point in the cars life and the rear is pushed to the driver side about 2 in(claims it drives straight) has some light rust but needs most of the interior, tiers, brakes, he also said the trans was done but he didnt have documantation like he did for the motor and it searches at 65 (I think do to the corvette style converter he said was in it) I will have to bring it to a shop to look under the car for any real damage but should I save this one or keep looking and how much would you pay for this car?
the parts it will definetly need total $1,500.00
+ it will need minor body work and paint to boot

So you're looking close to $10k with purchase and work. Your call, but I'd say keep lookin. Never know what else - possible frame work or scrap if it was hit too bad. You could pick up something newer with lower miles cheaper. Might even put out same hp. Why not put $$ into your WS6?
It's not how fast you can go. It's how fast you can get there.

I'd say keep looking. You should be able to find one in better condition for same price or close. I see them around here pretty nice for reasonable prices.

I would keep looking.
You are miles ahead to buy a good car and spend a little more on it than to take someones torqued up mess and try to fix it.
Secondly, 4k for a formula 350, with the issues you've described does not seem to add up in my book.
