Rim Size
I Have An 01 Ws6 Six-speed And I Am Looking To Upgrade My Current Rims And Tires. What Is The Best Overall Size In Which I Would Not Compromise Stance, Handling Or Looks? I Notice Some "track Version" Cars Have 18's In Front And 19's On Back... Would This Be Beneficial On My Car?
Thanks,
Chris

I have 18's all around. IMO I think it looks better with the same size wheels. I hear diffrent size front and rear can mess up handling a bit. I think you would have to be a fairly aggressive driver to notice. I have a little bit smaller tire up front and the front tires will slide a little if I'm really carrying alot of speed into a tight corner on cement.

It's just what I heard. I really don't notice my tire size difference on this car much, but when I had a S2000 the front would slide a bit more than I liked. That car had a much larger differnce in width of the front and rear tires though. With different sized rims there will be a bigger sidewall size difference and I don't see how that would not impact handling some, because the front would flex more than the rear. If the rest of the car is set up right I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem like the Z06. I never had a chance to push a cars limits with different front & rear wheel sizes on it just tires. Maybe I'll bolt up the 16's in front and go for a ride and see how it does for feel and on the G-Tech.

I have 18's all the way around and love them. I was gonna do 17's and 18's but after I seen a pic I changed my mind real quick, did not look right. I have a 2 1/2 inch drop and have no clearence problems at all.--Tony

I just like having a little more sidewall is all.
Looks great Tony!

I agree with the idea of having more of a side wall, but after talking to a lot of people and seeing the difference in sidewall from 17's to 18's it is not much. So I think 18's looks better and that is what I went with. If you wanted 17's should of just bought an SS.

I went from 17's to 17's.
Improved the look of the car nicely...and got me what I wanted. 315's out back.

I went from a 40 series tire to a 35 series tire when I bumped to the 18's. I agree with having more sidewall though, it is nice to not have to worry about hitting dips to hard!--Tony
