    Rear hatch/fuel door latches

Well took and filled in rear center section and battery in rear so if power failure I will have hard time getting into hatch. Was talking to someone else with same problem and he was going to use a hood latch to open.So started to come up with idea and seen latches below and thought would be cool to also have locking fuel door so here it is so far.

Had to cut out entire area and trench it to insert apiece of clear plexi that I had to bend to get curve. The lights are mounted behind it and used decal (to cover clear area)to paint. There is write up on another ls1 site for same idea

And doing a latch cable for the fuel tank would be an interesting mod. I still like my electric release for the hatch. If you get this working do a detail thread and it might get sticky.

The leds I used was just a strip(3) bought at auto parts store that stick on I haven't worked with leds so was lot easier. Also still have electric button to pop hatch but needed another way just in case battery dies because its in hatch area and would be hard to get to.

how are you going to run the cable? Along the drivers side and around the back.

You'll need an extended cable to reach right?
