all LS1 Trans Ams came with the big wing from the factory, unless they are convertible.

V6 firebirds, LS1 Formulas, and LS1 Trans Am convertibles came with the smaller wing.

WS6 means it was an original Ram Air car, no WS6 on the RPO sheet, no factory Ram Air. your hood was added after the fact. the hood is funtional upon installation with a factory/aftermarket raised airbox. if you don't have a raised airbox, I wouldnt worry too much about getting one, you won't notice a performance difference either way.

    Posting pictures using photobucket

Also post your VIN number so we can look up all your RPO codes. Or just post a pic of your RPO sticker.

ya a lot of people add the ram air hood for looks and they usually add the air box as well, but you gain maybe 3hp at the crank that way. better money spent would be a CAI but hey some people like looks over performance.

    LID <> Raised Air Box.

Not the same thing. All LS1 cars had the same lid from the factory (unless you got a SS or Hawk w/ a SLP lid without the silencer baffles). The only difference between a non-ram air lid and a "Ram Air" lid is the decal. And true, an aftermarket "lid" that eliminates the silencing baffles will improve performance (and WOT sound) on ANY LS1 car.

What IS different on the WS6 cars is the raised air box, which holds the filter higher and provides a larger ~1-1/4" high opening to the underside of the filter for the air from the hood to flow more freely into the filter. Non WS6 cars, including the Firehawk, had the standard (non-raised) air box that only provided a ~3/4" tall slot for the air to enter the filter.

WS6s didnt come with the SLP lid, and does it have a WS6 badge pasted on the back? sounds like somebody tried to make some modifications, not nesessarily clone..
