Question about block in 01 ws6

Does anyone else's 01 or any year trans am ws6, have a stick saying new Chevy 350 stick on it? Or is this a different block? I'm trying to figure out what all was done to my car before I bought it, so far I have SLP full induction system and the loud mouth II exhust system with 3.5 inch tips. Is there anything else to look for that can be easily spotted?

the LS1 is a 346.. not a 350. not sure what the question was though...

Just seeing if anyone else's block had this sticker on it.. so the ls1 would say new chevy 346 not 350? does your block have a sticker? and also what are some easy mods to look for not including intake and exhust.

They do not put stickers on anything...

Whoever put a sticker on the "block" was pretty silly. I am surprised it hasn't burnt off...

I can upload a picture if you guys want if it makes things easier because I was wondering the same thing.. would you say that someone just stuck it on there for looks then? I'm trying to figure it out if it's worth buying back as a salvage car

There is no need to post a pic. They do not put stickers on the block. Besides, if they did put anything on it, it wouldn't read "350" as the LS1 motor is NOT a 350 cubic inch engine.

If you are worried about the stability of the motor, I would suggest test driving it and possibly having a compression test done on it.

How many miles are on it? Do you have any history what-so-ever on the engine itself?

I don't have any history on it, I bought the car with 44k and im the 4th owner on it. but this lady pretty much hit me head on and totaled my car out and just wondering if worth keeping or anything on it, and when I test drove it, it was fastest car i drove and my dad compared it to his old 427 425 motor in his old 66 corvette

interesting... never seen anything like that before...

what does the word above 350 say? 'NEW'?

    it's likely a replacement block...

yeah.. it says new right above the 350.. if its a replacement does that mean they put a 350 in there? not the ls1?

no no, it's a Gen 3 LS1, Gen 1 & 2 motors wouldn't go in without major renovation to the whole car. GM refers to LS1s as 350s on occation, lack of communication between engineering, production and marketing...

Thank god, for a minute there I thought the motor blew before I bought it and one of the people before me had to fix. I hate when people beat their cars down everyday at the track, and i looked in my buddy's 02 35th limited addition Camaro SS that was sent to slp and it didn't have the sticker on it, neither did his vette.

I know a few people from Valpo. Few friends graduated from VU and live there. I'm usually in the Schererville/CP area though.

Ever hit up any of the local car shows? They have a few in Valpo I know of and every Wednesday evening now (weather permitting), cars get together at Buddy N Pals in Schererville.
