Quarter Mile times and mods
I recently purchased a 2001 Trans am WS6... Its an A4 and has a drop in K&N filter and an after market muffler (thats right just the muffler)... My wife took it to the track a couple weeks back and ran a 13.8 @102mph the track is at 2200ft above sea level..what kinda times does everyone here run? and what are the modds? also Ive heard alot of people do not like the SLP lid...should I not get one? If not what other brand should I search for?

The lid is about the only thing people are good with from slp, and their line lock. The lid is good but has slight fitment issues. Those are good times also for being stock

With a lid, catback and subframe connectors, our '02 WS6 with an A4 and street tires went 13.395 at 106 mph. Two years later, with the mods in the sig, she ran a 12.430 at 107.69 a few weeks ago. Track elevation is around 633' I believe and both of these runs were on cooler fall days.

Whoops. Forgot to check the box for the sig.

Completely stock I ran a 13.79 @ 104mph. I added an exhaust, headers, a lid, and 4.11 gears along with some suspension and drive train mods and went 13.109 @ 108. I'm a M6 so I know I was leaving some on the table with that ET of 108MPH. Guessing with more runs I could have dipped into a 12.7ish.
Next spring I'm hoping to run around an 11.3-11.4 with my current mods.Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

Slp lids are fine. A lid is a lid is a lid is a lid lol. Only difference might be a little fitment.
I ran a 11.9 with my minor bolt on ss3600 stalled streetcar. Mods in sig.

Here is my progress mod by mod from when I bought the car Sept 2010.
I copied this from my project page on our local board.
1st time to track Sept/2010 .. 60ft 2.09 13.71 at 103.69mph bone stock 245/50/16 Khumo's
2nd time Oct/2010 ..60ft 2.001 1/8th 8.683 at 82.85mph 1/4 13.462 at 102.63mph Lid and weight reduction 275/40/17 Yoko's
3rd time Nov/2010 .. 60ft 2.08 1/4 13.37 at 106.00mph as above with 275/40/17 Yoko's/some free mods
June 7th..60ft 2.066 1/8 8.534 at 85.57mph 13.141 at 107.83mph Headers/Tune/255/50/16 Hoosier DR's
July 6th..60ft 2.008 1/8 8.415 at 85.84mph 13.031 at 105.95mph /RLCA's PHB/Ported TB All Free Mods,DR's
Aug 19th.. 60ft 2.073 1/8th 8.593 at 85.38mph 1/4 13.202 at 106.43mph/ LS6 Intake
Aug 31st.. 60ft 2.068 1/8th 8.567 at 85.60mph 13.183 at 106.10mph Magnaflow CB
Sept 5th ..60ft 2.038 1/8th 8.411 at 86.69mph 1/4 12.976 at 107.01mph /same as above
Oct 22nd..60ft 2.031 1/8th 8.363 at 87.37mph 1/4 12.887 at 108.49mph /same as above
So with hardly any improvement in 60ft except consistency the car has gone from 13.71 at 103.69mph to 12.887 at 108.49.
Thats a .823 of a second and a 4.8 MPH improvement over stock with Free Mods,LS6 Intake,CAI,LT Headers,Tune,RLCA's PHD Bar and DR's with minor weight reduction(rear seat/belts/spare)and basic maintenance.
BTW it has 126,000 miles on her not KM's and now has 50+ dragstrip passes on her that I know of.2010 Camaro SIM 2SS/RS A6

black- 2000 nhra edition formula
I suggest that as your first mod, get a stall convertor in the 3000-3500 rpm range. A stall is the best performance mod a person can do for a automatic car. You will easily drop half a second if not more, no more dead spots like when you punch the car now at about 36-37mph and the car will generally run like a raped ape.

What muffler do you have??
If you plan on doing the slp lid, get the stock throttle body ported!
I recommend you to get the slp lid used if you can. You can find it for 40-60 dollars if your lucky.
I added a ported throttle body, slp air lid and smooth below felt a difference on the car.
Those are good numbers but I'm sure you'll do better with this mods.
