Pry a newbie post...ws6 hood question
so i just got a 98 formula, and have always loved the way the ws6 hood looks, i've seen a couple sights with prcies around $850 for a painted hood...i don't care about funcionality cuz i'm going to do a K&N induction kit over the winter hopefully, i jsut want the mean look. anywhere have a good reputation for these/ is there any chance of buying them off of wrecked TAs? thanks

Trans Am's are rare enough as it is. Finding a WS6 hood off a totalled bird is really hard to find. Your better off just trying to find one on ebay.

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
there is a sticky for your question, but look at the fog lights.
if the fogs are in the middle, that's a trans am [not formula] or a ws.6-which we know you don't have
if the fogs are spread to the far left/right and you have the LS1-you are in a formula firebird.
also, look on the door sticker for the option code "WU6" wich means "formula"
all ws.6's are considered formulas.

so after reading this plus the sticky this is what i get:
(sorry if i'm a little slow in getting this)
all of the following are firebirds: (for 98 and up of course)
3800 V6 is just a firebird
5.7 LS-1 is a Formula
5.7 LS-1 Plus Body Styling is a trans am
5.7 LS-1 plus ram air is a WS-6
if someone could let me know if i'm right so i don't sound like a complete and total deuche bag when i'm talking to someone about my car, i would greatly appreciate it!

alright, i am impressed by it only taking me a couple posts to figure out what my car is! and yeah, i knew the firebird had a long history, i just put the since 1998 part cuz i was talking about the ls-1 in there, and i didn't want people saying "well if it was 1997 or before it would have an lt-1" or whatever. thanks for putting up with my ignorance, i freakin hate newbies!

I'd just like to note, the WS6 option was avaliable on formulas too from 98-2000, after that you had to get a trans am for the hood
