price check on an 02 Ws6
Hello, Im new here, been lurking for awhile.
Looking for opinons on an 02 ws6 with 36k.
Real clean car with new tires, all options I want.
Dealer is asking $17500.
What is it worth ??
Thanks in advance.

The price will vary based on what options it has, whether it is a A4 or M6, and if it's a coupe or convertible...but $17500 would be roughly the right price range for it from a dealership...

However, I guarantee you that the price for any used car from a dealership has room to be dropped from the asking price. I wouldn't go ahead and pay what they are asking outright...you should be able to get them to come down at least a few hundred, possibly more...

I came up with 16000, but that's my area. Here's a link to Kelley Blue Book !!

Another good site to check out the car's price is www.nadaguides.com The prices on there are based upon actual/current sales from dealerships nationwide. However, both of the sites mentioned are for reference. They give you a very good idea of the price for your region, but dealers may ask for more or less than what those sites show (for a variety of reasons)...

Yeah, I left that out. Its a 6 speed, coupe.
They are asking $19995 for it got them down to $17355 on the phone.
Car is very clean & the color we want, only has 36k on it.
The car looks to be all stock no add ons, that I know of yet.
I am shooting for at most $17000 out the door.

Do you already have financing secured? If you do have a loan already preapproved, that will definitely give you another bargaining chip to get the car even cheaper.

That's always been a great bargaining chip for me when I buy cars-I make sure to get a loan preapproved first, then I go talk to the dealer. After I've talked the dealer down as much as possible, then I let them know I already have financing in order....I'll say something to the effect of "If you'll drop the price down by XXXX dollars, I'll buy the car right now".....they usually aren't suspecting this, and knowing that they are going to be able to sell a car that same day (and make their commission), without messing with any of the paperwork & time involved with getting you financing, will get them to "suddenly" be able to accept an even lesser amount

I'd take 2 grand less then they are asking with you to the dealership... Put it in front of them. and say you can sell the car today. Take the blue book print outs with ya... if they let you leave they they just lost a sale. tell them that your going to look at another one today and you are buying a car.

Here's another important thing to remember when buying from a dealership: No matter how badly you want that exact car, never show how eager you are to the salesman. If he or she knows how badly you want that car, then they know they can get away with selling it at a higher price to you. However, if you act very casually about the car, mention you've been looking at several local WS6s lately, and basically give them the impression that you are in no hurry to get one immediately unless it fits the price you want, the salesman will work much harder to get you to purchase THAT particular one they are selling. Therefore, they'll be more flexible in lowering the price-they'll believe that you have no problem walking away from them and buying a different local WS6 that's cheaper (even if there aren't currently any other local WS6s for sale; they don't know that for sure!).

No they are trying to make you think it's gold there are corvettes running around for 17g'sand less, c5z06's for less than 22g's tell them that, while your at it remind them gm is on the block bankrupt or financial bailout? Ask the salesmen if he thinks he's going to be able to keep his job and tell him it's better to make a little than be greedy and make none.
good luck
