Power door lock doesn't work on drivers door..

Like the title says, the door lock actuator on my drivers door no longer functions. At first it was intermittent, now it doesn't work at all. I've replaced the actuator and verified that it works properly when I jump power to it but it doesn't work when plugged in. The door lock switch on the drivers door works fine (unlocks and locks pass side door just fine..) Also my drivers door ajar switch doesn't work anymore after removing the door latch to replace the actuator and reinstalling it.. I'm guessing I've got a wiring issue but was wondering if there were any other possible causes.. any ideas welcomed..

my switch broke. It was a cheap replacement with factory part. Easy to do, and it looks new again. You may try unplugging, cleaning, and replugging in the switch.. Also possible that gunk is built up around the actuater rod and won't allow it to move? Not sure on that one, just throwing it out there...

already tried replacing the switch.. no luck.. wish it was as simple as gunk built up on the rod but it works fine if I directly jump power to the actuator, just doesn't work when plugged in..

Sounds like a broken wire somewhere, I'd suspect its where the harness goes from the body to the door and bends whenever the door is opened. Copper wiring will flex only so-many times before it breaks, usually well beyond the life of the vehicle, but not always. Intermittents are the hardest to pin-point, but if its no longer intermittent (i.e.: no longer working at all), you should be able to trace out which wires are used for the door lock actuator and test them w/ an ohmmeter to find which one is broken.

I don't have the wiring diagrams handy, but a shop / service manual will be of big help here.

    Good luck.
