Me too, mine's loose and hits my fairing. I see Auto Zone sells a replacement unit for $69 no sure how good it is.

Good question!! My power antenna is stuck in the "up" position.. You can hear the motor working, it's just apparently not attached to the antenna anymore!

I don't believe you can just change the antenna. It's all one unit with the motor and everything.

To change it, it is simple as pie. Take out your spare tire, remove the 2-3 bolts holding it to the body of your car, and unclip the electrical connection and reverse. That's it.

Not sure where people get the assemblies from though - you are on your own on that.

Some people have had the wires crack or become exposed causing it to not work. May want to check the connection before dropping the coin on a new unit.

Mine has always made a brief grinding noise when it reaches full extension. I fixed that by installing an exhaust cutout.

I put an autozone antenna in mine and they are shit! After about a year of use the radio no longer gets a signal from it and the black cheap plastic mount for the quarter panel stays loose. Wouldn't suggest using their antenna and really at this point can't suggest where to get a good one.

Attached is a scan of the instruction sheet included with my GM replacement antenna mast. Looks pretty easy but that usually means pretty easy to screw up. Hope this helps.Attachment 24961

I just did an aftermarket PA on both my cars and it looks stock or maybe better.

I disconnected my antenna from the motor several years ago. Local radio blows anyways. Still gets enough of a signal for the couple I do listen to. But my ipod handles most of the music duties.
