Please help with problem
I just sent in my pcm on my 02 ws6 i said to tune with no cats, and no air pump. i drove it and my engine light came back on and had the same problem as before it starts to cut out (missing?) feel while driving. i went to auto zone to have it scanned and p0102 came up it says mass or volume air flor circuit low imput probable cause
1. poor electrical connection
2. vaccum leak on engine
3. dorty or blocked air cleaner
4. faulty MAF or TPS
the only thing i can think of is vaccum line going to air pump that i deleted. i have the line going into a sensor and another line out of sensor and closed off by a screw i jammed into it. i also removed the air pump fuse. it still runs like shit after a few minutes of driving it, any suggestions, im lost, thanks in advance

I would start by cleaning your MAF with some CRC MAF cleaner.

does rubbing alchol do the same thing cause i deasassmbled maf and cleaned with q tip rubbing alcohol about 2 weeks ago?
does anyone no if this is the proper way to close off the air pump lines?

I can almost guarantee that a "screw jammed into something" is not the proper way to close off a vacuum line...
I've never heard of anyone using alcohol to clean the MAF before, but it may be a substitute. Someone else will have to chime in. The MAF is an electrical component so only certain cleaners that are designed for that type of equipment should be used.
When you put it back on, did you make sure all the electrical connections looked ok? fully plugged in?
If you unplug the MAF while the car is running, does anything change?
If you tap the MAF with a screwdriver while the car is running, does the idle change?

knight: have you done the air mod? where do you cap the line at and how?
also i just checked that the maf was clean. it was i also tightned the bolts that hold the maf together, they were a little loose from taking it apart i reconnected the battery and the light is off when i started it but it idles really low like 500-800 rpm then raises and lowers rpm. i disconnected maf and tapped on it and there was no difference at idle

Do you mean removing the air pump and lines? If so, I did. The line coming from the filter, I simply removed and installed a plastic cap in the filter lid. The other line went to the headers. As I was installing new ones that did not have the air flanges, it was a simple removal.
The symptoms you are describing sounds like a vacuum leak. Check the hoses and make sure they are capped properly. You can pick up vacuum line caps at most auto parts stores.
If you can't seem to locate the leak, you can spray a little starter fluid around the lines to help locate it. When the idle raises, you've found the leak.

on my 02 there is an addition to the air pump assembly there are vaccum lines going along the firewall and into a sensor that i had to pull out of the actual air pump lines themselves. those vacum lines are what i do not no what to do with. also after shutting off and restarting my ses light came back on i was hoping to have no light after the tune. also there is alot of black soot coming out of my exhaust i didnt notice it when i first put my headers and ory on no cat

Black soot in the exhaust is the result of your car running rich; too much fuel with the given amount of air being delivered.

what you are describing sounds like a vacuum leak. a tune will not fix a vacuum leak. You need to pinpoint where the leak is coming from.
How did you tell the MAF is clean? Just by looking at it? If so, that won't do it. I would still clean it with CRC MAF cleaner. It is like $7 at Autozone.

ok i will do that tomorrow thanks for the advice. does anyone no why it would be running rich after a tune by frost dumping tons of black soot ( no cat )? also loss of power

A dirty or faulty MAF will make your car a) run rich/lean and b) have a loss of power.

Op, possible vacuum leak could be the pcv. trace all of it. Not saying that is the source of your problems just an area that is most common.
Another thing, pull your TB off. Give it a good cleaning. Take the TPS and IAC sensors off first. Use electrical cleaner on the IAC to remove the oil residue. On the Tb itself carb cleaner is ok.
MAF 35th Anv SS has already address this.
I also have a Frost tune and have no issues.

ok so i tore apart the maf and cleaned with maf cleaner, drove it again light came on immediatly and began running like crap after 10 minutes, unplugged maff and drove for a minute and it barely kept running it was cutting out so bad.
what now?

vacuum hoses, pcv, exhaust...anywhere where there is vacuum/air.
Connection to your throttle body/lid/MAF/etc.

i messed with the crancase ventalation hose when i was removing the air because i though that was the hose i had to disconnect. i cant see behind the intake to see whats going on back there
