P 1371
Hey guys,
here is what I got on my 1996 WS6. The code is P1371 IC 4x reference circuit to few pulses.
Now, the area above and around the opti looks dirty and moist.
Would you agree that the opti is shot?? I checked for the wiring and the connector which reaches into the opti housing and that seemed to be dry.

Ok did some homework
I found this on the net and it describes the opti distributor on lt1 engines.
http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...ing_modifying/
Oil is killer number one for the distributor.....for the reference signal to be exact. An oil leak often occurs above the opti when work on the head (timing chain cover) has been done. Always replace those shaft seals on the cover. My car has got a new head gasket before I bought it and they (most likely) did not replaced the seals on the shaft. What I got is this leak which than cost me my distributor unit.
Just a little help for people who try to figure out what is wrong with the car.
