Noise from the brake fluid reservoir

I noticed when I lift the hood after I stopped the car that there was a fizzing sound from the brake fluid reservoir and that it was wet on the outside. The fluid didn't look dark or anything but could it be time to change it anyway. It was some years ago I did it, but I haven't driven it to much so it would be because of time in that case, or could it be something else?

That's odd. Is the lid fully seated and the gasket in place?

I feel you have a vacuum leak somewhere near the master cylinder. The MC is void of any consistent air pressure that would cause the "Fizzing" sound you are talking about. You probably had some fluid drip on a vacuum line with a slight leak. Clean up the area with break clean, be careful, and then use a spray bottle with soapy water to find the leak. If that does not do the trick then break out the smoke. Good luck.
