Next mod - Where to go from here?

The car is a 2001 Black WS6 that I recently bought bone stock with 40k miles on it. The paint, body, interior are all flawless. I feel pretty lucky that I was able to find a trans am this nice, so I wanna do it right.

Bought in January and here are the mods to date-

    Pacesetter long tubes
    o/r y-pipe
    SLP cat back
    K&N filter

My goal is to have a super clean looking T/A without getting too crazy on the power end. Of course everyone wants a crazy powerful t/a but I think I should take it easy with the budget im on and these insane gas prices. So what I'm looking for is advice on what you would do next if this was YOUR car...

Welcome. try to post some pics, we all love seeing what others have.

Many will say ditch the K&N because its oil messes with the MAF and makes you constantly have to clean it. SFCs are practically a must. Even under stock power you can get dimples on the rear QPs. Other mods like the free are and TB coolant bypass are good to do. If you have a M6 then the clutch line mod is good to do to.

Know issues with the cars are headlight motor gears are plastic and go out replace with brass. Passenger window - one of our sponsors has a fix for it, about $35 saves the motor because of a GM faulty design in wiring. PCV - I personally hate the way it was design. A fix for it is called the LS6 Valley Cover Tray (VCT). It is not a performance mod but an improvement in function. Some disagree, most agree it is a worth while mod.

Most ppl will recommend at least getting: LS6 intake, M6 LS7 Clutch Kit, A4 Stall around the 3800 range. You already got LTs/ORY/Cat back. Most here hate SLP. Their lids and line lock are good but their headers are another thing. A good tune and suspension upgrades. I recommend doing these first. Got to have a solid foundation in order to put the power to the pavement.

I'm building mine as well on a budget too. This is all that I've done since I got her 2 yrs ago.

Thanks for the reply! I like the advice you gave and I was thinking the same route as far as suspension upgrades for my next project. However, I have no idea how to do the free mods like free air, TB coolant bypass and clutch line mod. I assume someone has explained it on the website before? I've always heard of the ram air mod....is this the "free air"?

I will try to post pics soon

My replies are not going through but thanks for the reply! I am unsure what those free mods are but maybe there has been something posted on here before about them?

    Intake mani
    All suspension you can do
    Clutch
Upgrade T56 if you have one
Do some ignition upgrades like Plug wires, plugs, and coils
    Get a tune
Get some wheels if you dont already have any
Go to 6LE and check out their stuff they have, they make some things nobody else does. For example they make a Carbon Fiber Targa top, which i really want but its pricey
