New to Modding
I currently have a pretty stock 1999 Trans Am WS6. I have a Crane Ams Power Progammer, Throttle Body Bypass, Corsa Exhaust, and I just purchased an SLP lid(Also have a K&N Air Filter). I was wondering if someone could tell me some mods I could do to help give me that extra boost. I Was looking into the FAST Manifold and 90mm Throttle body. But if someone knows something better I should start with, please help. Thanks

Its really not woth getting the FAST unless ur gonna do a H/C later on or spray. Just port the throttle body and getta LS6 intake. Then start looking into headers, and later on gears. stick or auto?

How do you find those gears? Did it make a big difference? How much, How much work..Etc. Thanks for your help to btw, I live in a small town and the mechanics around here are hard to get answers out of.

yeah gears make a big differance. Youll notice the power right away. They really wake the car up and put them in their power band much faster. However 4.10's are mostly for outta the whole and are not that good on the highway. My dads mechanic installed them for me so i cant really tell you how hard they were to install. But from wut i hear its not that bad if u can get the car up high enough and have the right tools. I got mine for $200.

first i would make sure u got subframes and stop all the little noises before they start, also it will hook up better because it will stop the car from bending... then u should get a set of headers. that will give you what your looking for i think. then if u want to go another step i would get gears. personally i drive mine almost everyday so i would go 3.73 or something like that. 4.10 is more if you drive it rarely.

If you're interested we have a group purchase going on for our subframe connectors & driveshaft loop. Once we get 10 people in for the GP we'll start taking orders and ship them out. $100 for the subframes which is a VERY good price. You also have the choice of powdercoating color---red or black

Black- Formula... soon
do the 4.10 gears actually make the car faster overall or is it just for low end speed? like i mean it makes you go 0-60 or 0-80 faster but makes you go from 80-140 slower? can anyone explain to me the advantage and disadvantages for the 4.10 gears over the stock 3.42 or even the 3.73?

they would make u faster at ANY speed up untill u hit the rev limiter at the top of 5th......i would take a guess that that would happen around 155-160 with 410s????? belive its aroujnd 180-185 with the 342s....u would also lose a few mpg on the highway ..belive at 60 your around 1800 instead of 1400 with 4.10s.....this is not from experiece but what ive read on this site as i dont have 4.10s and with my power i dont need 4.10s.....im having enough trouble putting the power i have no to the ground.......... maybe this will help.....u would be shifting more often and at every shift your car would be at a slightly higer rpm with the 410s than the stock 342s ..putting u more in the meat of your horsepower band making yoru car acccelerate slightly faster ......might gain u 3 tenths in the quartermile if u have adiquite traction ...if u plan head/cam later on..or a supercharger or nitrus i would stay away from the gears as they wont be nessesary with that kind of power......unless your planning on it mostly being a track car running slicks/drag rads

4.10's are still only 300 rpm difference on the highway at 70mph
So it's worth it to be able to use all of 4th gear at the track.
3.42's only hit maybe 49-5000 rpm through the traps, So you still have 1000 rpm of pull left on the table. With 4.10's you should pass through around 57-5800.Craig
