So, you have about $20,000 re-up bonus with about $6000 up front?
If so, that sounds like a good amount of money to invest in the car.
You should decide if you want to go for appearance first or power.
I chose the appearance mods first and moving to the power mods this next year.
Headers sounds like a good start. I like the ones from LPP headers and I really want the GMMG chambered exhaust and tips now too.
I have a Magnaflow muffler but, somehow want the GMMG after looking at the website.

I wouldn't blow it all on the car though.
Start slow and see how you like it.
What do you want to start with? Appearance, power or both?

Well, that is something you would have to decide.
Personally, I would go for some good bolt on mods like headers and chambered exhaust.
You can also get a larger (LS6) manifold and do the ole 90mm throttle body, MAF and get an SLP type lid with a K & N filter.
After all that, get a 10 bolt axle and 3.73 gearing in the ass.
You'll want to get a good professional tune done on it after all that.
Or, you could just skip the larger intake shit and get a super charger.
I like all of them and like I said, I'm going to start on the power mods with the headers and chambered exhaust.

daily driver get bolt ons and then go from there and decide if you want to keep going alot of people put heads/cam on to these cars even as daily drivers without problems but everyone varies... but at the least I would say
LT,ORY, Catback, Lid, TB P&P, SFC, Ecutout

I would just supercharge it and throw in a 9inch rear end just so it wont blow on you but all in all with the procharger and rear end with upgraded parts/torque arm etc your looking at 14k which leaves you with 10k in the bank and you'll be pushing around 470rwhp and a good hook up if you get the torque arm, lower controlarms, panhardbar,Subframe connectors.
that 14k figure is with labor just a ballpark estimate and for a daily driver it'll be goodLast edited by NavdeepWS6; 12-16-2008 at 06:37 PM.

Buy a damn 408, built tranny, and 9inch/12 bolt..
that should make it plenty streetable, should have plenty of cash left for suspension/tune etc.
But heads/cam/intake/suspension/rear end/transmission looks good as well lol

Whats seems fast to you? To a lot of people a 14 second car is fast. To others a 13 second car is so fast it scares them. A 12 second car would make them wet their pants. My Formula has only a lid and the free ram air mod. I have not run it at the track but I think on a cool night it would run very low into the 13 second range. Its an 02 with a 6 speed. I am looking at a pulley and a cat back, that's all. Then I will restore the car to like new and enjoy it. Maybe I will look into some decent shocks and sway bars for later. My Bird is more than fast enough for me. But everyone is different. It has 86,000 miles and from what I have learned off this site, it will go 86000 more. Have fun!!

I'd put about 5K into a head & cam package and a little handling stuff then take the rest and invest it wisely. if your not wise on investing check out FOOL.com
