Taupe/Red- 2001 Trans Am Conv
Same things
Welcome! You basically have it all correct. Z28 & Trans Am the same HP, and SS & WS6 the same HP. Just a preference for you on the looks. Both wonderful beasts. There was a slight 5 HP increase for 2001 & 2002 models. There also was shock mod for the same models. I find my T/A actually rides better than my old Formula but most folks don't give a hoot about ride except our girlfriends/wives. One negative that just doesn't seem to go away is the pop-up headlights. They all seem to break at some point, and unless you can do it yourself, it is rather expensive. If you don't drive much at night they will last a LONG time though. Good luck w/everything!
In answer to your question, forgot to add that there is 15 HP difference between T/A & WS6, 310 vs 325 for '01-'02 models.Last edited by Wayah-bird; 03-05-2006 at 06:03 AM.

LS1 F-Body is the 98-02 models
WS6/Firehawk are more comparable to the SS
Std T/A is comparable to the Z28
M6 better for spirited driving like autocross, SOLO II.
A4 better for consistent straight line performance.Last edited by PontiacFan; 03-05-2006 at 09:13 AM.

my 2 cents
if you can get the m6 i think it is better all around. plus the 1st and 2nd gears are great! third is trickie but by third you will have killed most any thing!
and 98-00 around 300-310hp and 01-02 around 325hp. good hunting! oh try looking on automart or autotrader.com brandon

You need a modded 2002 WS6...
Power wise, all the cars you mentioned will be very close when stock. You *could* get some SLP options on the SS though (mostly handling I think, and a few small hp mods).- 2002 Trans Am WS6 -
