Perhaps give Softys in Winnipeg Manitoba a call. Are you having issues with international shipping?

Where not having any issues with that but shipping costs a lot more and we're on a budget.

Do you know if it cracked the block?

If it's just a spun bearing depending on how bad it could be just a polish of the journals and an oversize bearing, if bad enough a new crank, rods & bearings. I'd also toss in a new oil pump as well.

This option is far cheaper than a new engine.

It is not cracked but i need to get it done by a mechanic because I'm not exactly qualified lol. I also don't have a garage or the tools to complete this. I live in a small town so there aren't many mechanics to look at it. The cost of fixing it is almost the same amount to put an engine in it.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I went through something similar a couple years ago. For my car (V8), the cost of a used engine (it was a really lucky find, IMO) was $2400 (but I paid an extra $700 for a 24-month parts/labor warranty), plus about $1300 for R&R. So around $4500 or so. I expect the V6 would cost less than that, especially since it will likely have some miles (or, in your case, kilometers) on it. I would assume that the R&R would be a similar cost. Of course, this
for a domestic car in the States and prices are in USD.

Ya I was quoted 5500 CAD for a new engine and transmission with 15000 kilometers(that includes labour). I thought the engine seemed fishy but it turns out its the real deal. It came from a collector who wanted a bigger engine in one of his cars.
