Need opinions, thinking of buying a 95 bird

Hello all I'm having a dilemma. I'm thinking of buying a 95 v6 Firebird. The car has 110k on it and is an a4. Cloth interior which seems to be in good shape. The bodies pretty beat but I want to change out the majority of the parts to resemble a 98-02 ws6. I kinda want to flip the car. It doesn't seem to have any structural damage or anything but I will get the VIN to get a carfax. There is a bit of rust on the driver rear quarter panel but other than that none that I can see. They want 2k for it and I was gunna offer 1300-1500. I will get pictures up soon and take it for a test drive. I've done quite a bit of research on these cars so I feel pretty comfortable with them and I know how to turn a wrench lol.

But from what I mentioned what do you guys think of this? Does is sound like a good deal for what I plan to do to it or is it too much for what it is? In the future I would like to swap my ls1 into it when I build my 383 but for now I'll just keep the v6.

if you plan on keeping the car then OK...make a nice toy to play with and to do the swap BUT i dont think its worth it for resale

Yea I agree with you I dont think I would gain anything on resale, especially being a v6. I would probably end up keeping it now that I keep thinking about it. After I put all this money and effort into it I doubt I could see it go. Especially if I didnt make much off of it.

    Thanks for the input

once all is said and done I think you'll lose money on converting it to a 98-02 with the body parts and motor, sounds like too much of a bitch to do then turn around and sell it

would be a good dd,i would not expect to make a profit considering the cost to convert to 98-02 body and it is still a v6 which most gearheads do not want(no offense Smittro) btw is it a 3.4 or 3800?

In the end I would most likely keep it. I know I wouldnt make much if any especially with all the time I put in it. Im looking for a project to do for myself. For now I have my car were I like it and wanted to try something else and I saw this and thought hmm maybe it would be fun. Especially since I know fbodies very well. But now Im not sure, I already have two ws6's at my house and I love both of them.

Now my minds going everywhere lol, Im thinking about going a different way as I am searching the interwebs. Im thinking about going old school now. A MUCH bigger project I know

If you want aLS1 V8 F Body buy one.

You can pick them up for 5,6,7G's.

By the time you get a new Dash Cluster,Wiring Harness,Transmission,Driveshaft,Rear End and Brakes (to eliminate the peg leg and drum rear brakes)Fuel System,Rack and Pinion(most V6 had high ratio)Radiator,LS K Member and upgrade the front brakes(the V6/LT1 fronts are barely adequate)

You could have bought a complete running LS1 and used your left over money for mods and had a car to drive.

But its your money, time and choice.
