Need help in exhaust purchase on 2000 TA
So I have owned a 2000 TA for quite a few years now and it's still all stock. Finally I am going to put some money into the car and want to start with an exhaust but I need some help. I am going to have someone put it on for me but I have NO IDEA what to get. I do want it to be loud and noticable. It's not a daily driver so I want it to sound great yet I'm looking to spend $400-$800 range. Any help or advice is much appreciated and please feel free to assist in what I should purchase after the exhaust is complete. IF you can provide me with any sites to purchase from please let me know.

Most people in here go with Borla, GMMG, Corsa, or Magnaflow. Those all give deep, throaty sounds. If you want really loud, SLP LM1 or LM2. You should consider replacing that flat OEM Y-pipe also.
Do you plan on running LT headers? Brand and type of headers will sound different with different exhausts.
Go to LS1sounds.com and listen to different sounds you might like.
PS - What part of Chicago? I work in the city on the south side.

How loud do you want it?
What kinda sound are you looking for?
If you want a smooth sound just a little louder go with magnaflow
Like said above LM1 and LM2 are louder but much less of a refined sound.
If your looking for a nascar sound thats mean as hell, look into true dual systems, only thing is most people get annoyed at how loud it gets. Magnaflow bullets tame it down though.

To the OP, you could always go with a more throaty, nice deep sounding exhaust that sounds toned down at lower RPM and more aggressive at higher RPM. And, for when you want that super aggressive, badass loud sound get an electronic cutout. Just another option and then you have the best of both worlds.

Remember I need to keep it below $800. I will check out sounds on some boards, etc. Now if I go with Magnaflow is there a certain setup I need. I see ebay has these for around $500.
I live in Joliet, IL.

Can the exhaust and Pacesetter long tube headers
Can the exhaust and Pacesetter long tube headers all be done in the garage or does it need to go to a shop?
