more repairs while the motor is out

so i went by the shop today.. they already have the motor pulled out and parts pulled off.. so while the front end is out of the car, going to go ahead and fix a few more things.. new rack and pinion since the old one leaks like crazy. replacing both tie rod ends, replacing air conditioner compressor.. i never knew the old one didnt work.. thats why i have t tops

and replacing the coolant level sensor.. she should be ready tuesday.. i cant wait! basically going to have a new car.. i guess i need to buy a cam and new springs to beef up the 5.3 while i rebuild the 5.7.. man i need more money!

what happened to your engine?

Oil pump went out and messed up the crank and a piston. The block is still good so I'm putting in a 5.3 and rebuilding the 5.7. That works better for me economic wise as the TA is my daily driver

idk if you would rather have a new one or what, but i have a rack out of my 02 ss it didn't leak, but it does need inner and outter's put on. and why not a 6.0 if you don't mind me asking

well i had a lead on a 6.0 but it was already sold when i talked to the guy about it.. and seeing its my only car, i needed something now.. so my friend had a 5.3 in his shop so he is putting it in and i will get the 5.7 rebuilt

and my friend thats doing the work can get a new rack for $135 so i told him to go ahead and get that too.. best time to do it while the front end is out..
