LS6 vs Fast LSx intake manifold

I heard the LS6 one get 10rwhp, then LSx Fast one 15-20rwhp on LS1 cars.
I can get LS6 off the ebay 400 bucks, LSx Fast 750 bucks. is the later worth it. I mean an additional 300 bucks for 10rwhp difference..
    your thoughts please?

I've been trowing around the same question on how to mod my car. It seems to me that the ls6 would flow well enough for a stock setup with full exhaust. But if you anticipate doing a head cam package and throttle body then the FAST would prolly be worth it. That's my .02 on what I plan to do to mine.

I think you answered your own queston. Right now you'd be spending 400 for 10 hp to get the LS6 intake, so you would get the other 10 for only 300 bucks. If you got the money I dont see why not. It all adds up in the end.

right.. that's true. thanks guys, good points, and yes I do plan on doing AFR h and some cam.. no ThBody, but yeah the extra flow will be very benefitial to the h and cam setup.

on a stock engine, you can actually lose h.p with the lsx.
the ls6 manifold has been proven to work with any combo.

I have been trying to decide which one to go with also. I will be putting one or the other on in the spring. With my current mods which are lt headers,y-pipe,lid, and loudmouth exhaust would i lose power by putting the fast intake on it???

LS6 intake works great for H/C cars even. Still not much to pick up with the FAST.

I went with the FAST on my 402.
It all depends on how far you plan on going in the future.

    agree with above.
if youre going to have a hot cam/heads or some form of forced induction, then the lsx is what you want.
if youre just going to do the usual 224 cam and heads, youll pick up a few h.p over the LS6 using the fast intake.

You'd need a new tb with the Fast 90.

If you go ahead with the FAST manifold, get the Nick Williams tb and not the FAST tb. The FAST tb tends to stick in the open position (or so I've heard).

Never had a problem with mine.
But I would also just get the NW throttle body.

How much power did you gain over the LS6 manifold on your 402?

I will get the 85mm Fast intake so it should be fine with the stock ThBody,
I'll port the ThBody as well.. in terms of engine work h/cam and yes I'll do a vortech s/c or pro charger not sure which on to choose yet but it will be a blower for sure, maybe the 838 pro..
