    LS3 swap...who's done it?

Part of me is itching to drop an LS3 in to my "WS7". Mine is a '98 Trans Am with an aftermarket hood/ram air sys- it isn't an original WS6, so I figure what the heck and why not. But I don't do anything to that car without running it by you folks first...so what does the collective think?

What other supporting mods do I need to do if I go with this swap?

I don't know if it's going to be cost effective or not...I want to build my way towards ~475-500 horsepower as finances permit and I'm open to other suggestions, besides an LS3 swap.

    Thanks for the info.

What's the going price on LS3s? I'd like to get the best deal I can. I have no idea how much it's going to cost to have someone swap them out for me...I know there are some supporting mods that have to go along with it.

I wish I knew how to do these kinds of things- just about killed myself changing all 8 plugs in the car. Of course, they had been in there a long time...they looked stock, with heat shields still attached. My car decided to keep that 8th plug, it fell somewhere down there in to the bay after I banged my hand on something.

    Thanks for the help.

I think the real motivator for me here is going to just be grabbing myself an LS3 from eBay and a 9" rearend from somewhere.

Seems like a pretty straightforward swapout and a good stepping stone to my magic 500.
