    LS1 vs SRT-8

Simple question. From a stop and roll who wins? TA vs Charger

It depends on many factors. But If you're talking about a stock ls1 f-body vs. a stock Charger SRT8, i would say it depends on the drivers. If you can get proper traction, I think an f-body will take the charger. Their powerful, but heavy as shit. Few mods on a f-body, bye bye charger. The only way to find out is to race one and let us know what happens...

My money would be on the LS1 stock for stock but it would still be a drivers race. If both were driven perfectly the f-body would have the upper hand.

Cool. Both run low 13's, but from a roll its tough to bet against an ls1.

The srt-8 chargers are automatics, so it depends on how good the ls1 is shifting, but if the ls1 is auto, then i would say it goes to who can get traction.

My dad has a 09 RT challenger with the 5.7 and a 6 speed (box stock) we have never raced but he ran his car one time and he ran an 13.70 @ 104. I have ran my wifes 04 GTO with a 5.7 and a auto (Magna flow cat back) and I ran a best of 13.67 @ 102 so it would be a good race I would say if he could get his off the line he would beat me. I'm betting a srt8 with the 6.1 would have a little edge on the ls1 5.7 but a ls1 in an f-body would be a knock down drag out race IMO.

    Question

425 hp (charger) vs 325 hp (t/a).....wouldn't the charger win easily with 100 more hp?

You're forgetting that the Charger weighs over 1000 pounds more than your standard F-body.

I don't know the exact numbers, but I think a charger weighs something like 500 to 800 pounds more then a TA

wow, I didn't realize the weight would neutralize 100 hp like that.

Well, the way you compare it is divide the weight by the power and you have a general number to go by.

    F-Body Coupe...3400lbs & 350hp = 9.71 pounds per hp

    Charger SRT-8...4200lbs & 425hp = 9.88 pounds per hp

So in this mindset (negating gear ratio and power curves) the F-Body would win because there is less pounds per hp.

I might add, I smoked the shit out of an SRT-8 (car lengths), and I was only running a Lid, LT Headers, ORY-Pipe, and a Catback.

I'd say the f body would win, only cause I've beat a SRT-8 by several car lengths with just a lid and full exhaust
