I honestly dont think its cause there cocky as much as lot of ppl have fun driving stick. also it is a little more challenging to race with a stick because of human error there for you become a better driver(SO TO SPEAK) Me personaly will never buy a auto i just DONT like them and in a sports car its even more FUN!!!!!!!!!!

lol- I must be "cock"y, I own a "stick".
Seriously, a sports car, or any car that is driven for pure enjoyment, and not just to get from point A. to point B., should be a Manual transmission. (IMO)
I mean how much skill does it take to push the gas pedal?
You dont have to worry about shift points, hitting the gears, launch RPMs, down shifting to the appropriate gear. You don't have to use both feet and both hands at the same time in perfect rythm to maximize your launch/ speed.
To make a long story short, Automatic Transmissions take too much of the sport out of the sports car.
I am not saying I will never own a automatic sports car, but I probably won't.
PS-- I have love for all LS1s. Just more love for the M6's.

that is the whole point so you don't miss your shifts and they do it without hesitation.....so i can hold my wifes hand while i am walking on manuals.......not that i can't be beat..but you really need to know how to "drive" a manual if you want a chance, Stock for stock an automatic will take them everytime!

From a roll the autos arent all that, i have kids all the time saying its an auto could you please go slow enough for me to catch first gear. The reason i race is to get my heart rate up and the adrenaline going. When i was 16 in my auto 79 malibu i had soo much fun when i was 18 in my 96 Formula A4 i had a blast but 2 months prior to getting rid of my 96 i was acutally haveing more fun racing in my 94 escort because it was stick. So i got a M6 and racing is once again a challenge and more exciting. Fun racing isnt just goin fast its throwing gears you think in your head here comes third you get your hand just right and slam that shit like theres no tommorow. Thats what i call racing. Like I said on another post if you want absolutely no mistakes when racing the just get a computer that hits the gas for you when the lights go green. What fun is letting a computer do everything for you.

I like my m6 because I only drive it on special occasions and it's fun to drive but if I had it as an every day driver I would probably want an auto but then I think I wouldn't enjoy it as much! I guess I have to drive an auto f body to find out!
