Pewter- 2002 WS6 Transam
jack hammer noise when i lock my car
Hi, I have a 2002 WS6 Transam and awhile back, I found some posts about others that have had the same issue I have when locking the car and the headlight covers go up and down and then the jack hammer sound follows..I am in search of the name of the part I need to replace to fix the problem. I thought it was a headlight motor but im not sure...Can someone please tell me what the part is called and where I can order one.
Thank you, Dayna

You'll probably want to replace those plastic gears with brass ones.
Here is a sticky for you

Yeah you need to either replace the motor or the gears. I had the same issue a while back. Replaced the motors first then the gears. Haven't had an issue since.

I would recommend swapping the gears...if you replace the motor and it has the same plastic gears as the factory ones then you'll be in the same boat eventually. The brass/metal gears that are available are the way to go.
