IROC racing demise
The IROC racing series franchise has thrown in the towel and is going out of business. They're liquidating their assets (they're based in New Jersey) and are selling off EVERYTHING, including the IROC T/As that they used for the past 4 -5 years. Wish I could afford one! The news article was in 2/22/08 (Friday's) Star-Ledger. They also (obviously) have a lot of IROC memorabilia that they're selling like the drivers' helmets, driving suits, etc. They cited the lack of sponsorship, declining viewership and a number of other reasons as to why they're going out of business.

"In 2007, IROC could not find a sponsor and postponed the first two races at Daytona and Texas. IROC went on hiatus for 2007 and hoped to return with sponsor in 2008. However, IROC has announced an auction on March 7, 2008 and March 8, 2008 to auction off tools, equipment, cars, and memorabilia. An advertisement on the front page states, "IROC is closing it's doors after 30 years. Complete liquidation, everything must go. The auction can be found at www.auctionlistservices.com"
