    internal resonance

driving home from work yesterday, i started hearing a vibrating in my car around 1600-1700 rpm. it just suddenly started, ie it didnt happen on the way to work, or ever before. i tried to figure out what it was, but wasnt in the car long enough. anybody else ever experience anything like this?

how the hell do i delete a thread? i wanted to put this in the firebird section, but im an idiot.

Yeah, I just changed a lot of intake & exhaust components to aftermarket pieces and with the new, less restrictive setup the drone/vibration has increased.

I know i work all the damn time so today is my only option to do so.. My outer tie rod end was so bad. I changed it yesterday.. Ujoints and a polished driveshaft comming up today... I threw the u joints in my truck after doing a burnout and it cost me a transfer case and a driveshaft..

As far as the squeaks and rattles inside the car, I'm sure a good set of SFCs would fix the problem....I doubt it'd do anything for internal resonance though LOL...

Mine's the opposite: the passenger seat squeaks sometimes.

Don't know if this is your probem but I had a vibration noise that turned out to be the heat shield over the gas tank. There is another piece over the tail pipe that has a sheet metal tab that fits into the other heat shield piece. I used high temp RTV and forced it between the pieces. It's been fine with no resonance for more than 2 years.

While doing some basic maintenance under my car last night, I took a look at all components of my exhaust system. I found that my cross brace was rubbing slightly on the Y-pipe. I took the brace off & bent it a little bit for clearance. After putting it back on and driving my car, some of the sounds I had been hearing were completely eliminated.
