Ideas for going faster at the track?
I took the TA to the near by track (MAM) last Friday night to see what it could do now that I have everything on and its read to go. So I ran a best of an 8.2 in the 1/8 @ about 83mph on my 3rd run. I know that it may seem alittle slow but it was my 1st time on the ETs and I didnt know how it would respond so I took it easy the 1st and 2nd time. I know that the car had more to give but I got kicked off the track for not having a helmet. I'm thinking that it could have ran a good 7.9 or maybe even a little faster with what its got. I'm looking for some options on how to get it to go faster with a better time without going into the motor/heads/ or rear end and doing it NA. Before the Driver Mod puns I know that practice is going to be a big part of it.
I have N2O but Ive got a little beef with a Chevelle and would like to show him up on his own terms. The Chevelle runs a 7.86 and only weighs about 3k lbs.
My TA is a full bolt, suspension car with exhaust and 9" + 3k stall and tune and slicks.
I was thinking of taking out some of the interior like the passenger seat and backseats and the moldings out of the back. I was also looking into running some race fuel if I can find any, and its my DD so I have to be able to undo anything that I do for the run. Any ideas?www.fquick.com/xzaero0

You could take the spare out of the back, lose a few pounds.

If your planning on running race fuel like 110 your gonna have to get the car retuned to run it properly I'd think.

are you letting the trans shift it self or are you trying to shift manually???
running race fuel wont' do anything for you really... unless you can tune it for the fuel...

And they are only getting you to a 1.8 short time?
Is it bogging? Not enough stall or gear?

The trans is shifting its self.
I dont know if you would call it race fuel but it is 100 octane. I'm gonna take it in Friday and get it re-flashed for the higher octane fuel.
My biggest problem is getting off of the line, I think that most of it is me finding the right RPM and getting my timing down.

So I try it again last night. I burn out, pull up to the line. Brake to about2,500 rpm and when the light changes I let off the brake and hammer it. The left tire doesnt grab, but the right one does. The front end of the car came up and the whole weight and force goes on the back passenger side of the car. There is this very loud, atleast in the car " POP " comming from the rear of the car. It was a hell of a ride, I never came out of the whole sideways before. It straightend out and I completed that pass, looked eveything over and made a few more easier passes. Car seemed ok then I ran it hard again.
I ran another 8.2 but it seemed like it was kinda "hopping" down the track at about the 330 mark. Even with the TCS off the low track light came on near the end of the 1/8th. The car rode ruff on the way home, and there is noise comming from the rear of the car kinda like grinding and a constant squeek. Hopefully the squeek is the brakes. I'll have to look it over today. So thats prolly the end of the racing for this year.

Hopping?
LCA's?
Adjustable Torque Arm?

Yeah it felt like it was hopping. Even when I was driving it home with the street tires on. It felt spongy like I was still on slicks with low air pressure.
Its got the UMI non adjustable Torque Arm and LCAs. I took a quick look under it today and didnt see anything broken. Tomorrow I'll jack it up and take a better look at it. I'll check the SFCs too it sounds like something on the passengers side is loose and rattling, it may have broken the weld?
